FUL VC Confirms Receipt of ₦198 Million NELFund Support, Begins Payment to 1,665 Students
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, has officially confirmed the receipt of ₦198,174,000 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for 1,665 successful student beneficiaries of the scheme.
In a letter addressed to the Managing Director/CEO of NELFUND on Friday, October 10, 2025, Professor Akinwumi expressed appreciation for the timely financial intervention and announced that the university has already commenced disbursement of the funds to all qualified students.
“The fund is being disbursed to all the successful students accordingly using the account details provided by them. This mode of disbursement enables those students who paid their institutional charges before the release of the funds from NELFUND to recover their money immediately,”
he stated.
The Vice-Chancellor also extended the university’s gratitude to NELFUND for supporting the students of FUL, noting that the initiative will ease financial burdens and enhance academic focus among beneficiaries.
He further expressed optimism for continued collaboration between the university and NELFUND in subsequent academic sessions, particularly the 2025/2026 session.
